CCMI Videos

24 Oct

While I was in New York there was a film crew there filming some promo material for some videos to promote the Cross Cultural Ministry Internship and NYC Summer Internship Programs. They are really good and I happen to be in one of them!

Feel free to check them out to get a better idea of what I do during the summer.

Area Retreat Re-Cap!

Area Retreat Recap!

The 2011 Asia Pacific Retreat has come and gone. I’m so overwhelmed with God’s goodness to us during the retreat. Thank you so much for your prayers during the retreat. We saw some amazing things happen and the Lord was really working in the lives of our team and the students that were there. It’s so fun to think back on our time with joy and I rejoice at what the Lord did. So many fun times and memories. I also can’t say enough about the team we had serving with us. They all brought their unique gifts, talents and skills and it made for one of the best teams I’ve worked with. I’m so thankful for all of them.

Here’s a sampling of pictures from our time in Malaysia. If you want to see more pictures you can check out my Facebook.

It wouldn’t be a Area Retreat Youth Program with out inflatable palm trees!

Reunions with old friends and meeting new friends.

Getting ready to play a Area Retreat favorite…Cat in the Hat!

Free-Time at the Pool.

Learning a new game…I wasn’t very good. 😉

Small Group Time!

My awesome Small Group!! Love these girls!

The whole group!!

Our fearless youth team! So thankful for these men and women!

This is my favorite pictur. Some of the students left this note on the window of the youth room. If you can’t make it out it says, “Bye 4 now. See you in 4 years. ❤ <3”

::::::::::::

So needless to say I think a good time was had by all. It was so cool to see these students opening up, sharing their stories, their struggles and seeing God meet them there. It was encouraging to hear stories of many of these MKs really understanding that they are part of the ministry that the Lord has called their family to and seeing the Lord work in that ministry.

Thank you for your prayers. We could really see the Lord working and moving in our time with these students. It was really encouraging and I can’t wait until our paths cross again.

What’s Next?
Well after some much needed post trip clean up I’ll be jumping into planning and recruiting for the 2 week trips I’ll be working on in 2012. I’m also looking forward to heading up to Covenant College to see some MKs and catch a soccer game.

Christmas Cards!
I’m beginning to work on my annual Christmas Card mailing list. If your address has changed in the past year or if you did not recieve a card last year and would like to this year please let me know what your mailing address is.  Thanks!

Monthly Update – October 2011 – Area Retreat!

5 Oct

All my bags are packed…I’m ready to go!

Well…Almost! I’m still working on packing my bags but I am definitely
ready to go! Tomorrow (Thursday, October 6) I leave for 2 weeks to Malaysia
and Singapore. I’ll be leading a team of 25 youth workers as we provide a
program for the 4th – 12 graders at Asia Pacific Area Retreat. This retreat
is a time for the Missionaries in the Asia Pacific area to come together,
rest and fellowship with one another.

We’d really appreciate your prayers for our time.
* For safety as we travel.
* For on-time flights & no missed connections.
* For the MKs we will be ministering to. That the Lord would be preparing
their hearts even now and that they would feel refreshed getting to be
with friends they haven’t seen since the last Area Retreat.
* For unity amongst the youth team. We have a lot of folks who’ve never
been on an area retreat before.
* For rest for the missionaries.
* For energy!

I can’t wait to tell you all that the Lord will do during this time. We are
anticipating big things!

I’ll hopefully be updating my blog and twitter with fun things as they
happen so I hope you will follow us there.

Thanks so much for praying!

In Him – Ruthanne
